Selling a house as-is in Manitoba: what you can skip

Preparing a house for the open market is expensive: repairs, cleaning, staging, and time. When you sell as-is to a private buyer, those steps come off your list.

As-is does not mean the house has no value. It means the buyer accepts the current condition and prices the work into the offer. You should still expect a walkthrough of how that number was built.

This is often the right fit for dated interiors, deferred maintenance, fire or water damage, hoarding situations, or homes that have been vacant. It is also useful when you simply do not have the bandwidth to get the house “show ready.”

If you want to compare options, you can still talk to a realtor, and you can still request a private offer. The point is choice, not pressure.
